Title: £90,000 settlement for injured biker

Mr L –v- Mr A Rogers
Mr L was involved in a motorcycle accident on 3 May 2008. He was wearing full BMW gear and a helmet. He was travelling down a country road travelling at between 40mph and 50mph. The Defendant’s car pulled right across the path of the Claimant and as a result of the collision between the vehicles Mr L was thrown 20 metres into a field. He sustained the following injuries:
Fractured right femur, tibia and fibula
Fractured left tibia
Fractured cervical spine
Fractured left thumb
Fractured left wrist
Fractured finger
Mr L was referred by his broker Carole Nash to their panel firm of solicitors. Mr L was not happy with the way the panel firm was handling his claim so he exercised his right of freedom of choice of legal representative and transferred his instructions to Bikelawyer.
Mr L made a remarkable recovery and suffered very little in the way of loss of earnings. The medical experts agreed that although he is undoubtedly disadvantaged on the open labour market for manual work his career (desk based) was likely to be full and unaffected.
The vast majority of his out of court settlement of £90,000 was for pain, suffering and loss of amenity.
